E-ballots were sent out to all NACCCA members who are on our
active email directory on June 23th, 2008. Votes were tallied on the closing date of July 10th, 2008.
We welcome Zeqi Zhou, Ph.D., President-Elect for 2008- 2009, and Shu-Ling Liang, Ph.D., Board Member-Elect for 2008-2010 to the 2009 NACCCA Board. The elected
candidates below will assume responsibilities after the July
30, 2008 Annual NACCCA banquet meeting in Washington, DC, held in conjunction
with the AACC annual meeting. Please join me in congratulating
these new officers.
Zeqi Zhou, PhD (President-Elect, July 2008-June 2009)
Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Egenix Inc, joined Egenix in 2003 where he has been working on the co-development of cancer diagnostics and therapeutic antibody technologies. He has eighteen years of monoclonal antibody and immunoassay development for cancer diagnostics. Prior work in industry and academia includes positions as Principal Research Scientist at Wyeth Vaccines where he worked on immunoassay development for pneumococcal and meningococcal vaccines; Associate Director at Atairgen Technologies working on assay development for ovarian and breast cancers; Senior Scientist at Bayer Diagnostics where he developed immunoassays for cancer diagnosis; Instructor and Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston. His academic training includes post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine, and a Ph.D. from Ohio University. He has published over 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and given 36 abstracts and poster presentations in domestic and international conferences. Also he has 5 patents issued and several patents pending on the early diagnosis of human cancers.
Shu-Ling Liang , Ph.D. (Board Member-Elect, July 2008-June 2010)
Dr. Liang got her BS degree in chemistry from National Cheng Kung University, Ph. D. in cell biology from Cleveland State University and did her clinical chemistry fellowship in John Hopkins Institute. She is a member of AACC with a certificate from American board of clinical chemistry. Dr. Liang has published 16 peer reviewed articles and abstracts. She was awarded as the pathology young investigators’ day award of Johns Hopkins University in the year of 2007. Dr. Shu-Ling Liang is Assistant Director of Clinical Chemistry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
