About the speaker
Dr. Liao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington (UW) in addition to the Clinical Chemistry Director at Harborview Medical Center and Renton Central Laboratory, overseeing general chemistry, special chemistry, and toxicology testing. After earning her PhD in Clinical Medicine, she completed her Clinical Chemistry fellowship training at UW and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Over the years, Dr. Liao has focused on advancing laboratory operations by increasing testing capacity, streamlining test menus, reducing errors, and improving workflow efficiency. Her research interests include clinical mass spectrometry, toxicology, and laboratory stewardship.
